Entrepreneur, Investor, and Thought Leader
Fueled by Leadership, Growth, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.
My career has been fueled by a relentless drive for personal and professional development. From a passion for entrepreneurship to a dedication to innovation and social impact, I’m committed to a continuous, lifelong journey of learning and growth.
It all began in 1997 when, as a college senior, I founded my first company. Since then, I’ve navigated the highs and lows of business, always focused on adding value and making a positive impact—whether with the people I work with or projects I love. My aim is to model the way for my team, clients, and colleagues—never asking anyone to do anything I won't do or haven't done myself.

Game-Changing Collaboration
My journey began in 1997 during my senior year at Ohio State when I founded my first business, Choice Recovery, Inc., a third-party collection agency. Over time, I expanded the company nationwide, serving over 10,000 clients and employing up to 100 people.
Throughout my career, one thing always stood out: I never heard my clients say
they loved sending people to collections. Yet, each month, we received up to 100,000 new accounts sent to collections because people couldn't afford to pay their bills.
So, I decided to do something about it.
In 2013, I launched [re]start, initially as a "Customer Care" department within Choice Recovery. Its purpose was to help individuals in collections find new jobs, helping them get out of debt and become financially secure.
This initiative evolved into something much bigger than I could have ever imagined. I built a multi-user online app using no-code technology so that companies can provide job seekers with direct access to live career advisors who can help them land a new job.
The success of the collaboration between [re]start and Choice Recovery was so impactful that I decided to launch it publicly as a social impact initiative, allowing other companies to help their customers have the means to thrive financially. Through [re]start, Choice Recovery assisted thousands of people in securing meaningful employment opportunities. This shared purpose, larger than any individual on my team, led to being recognized as a "Best Place to Work" for over a decade. Our unique approach of helping people find jobs to pay their bills gave Choice , twice ranked the #1 company to work for in Ohio. This gave us a distinct edge in the market, making us the only agency in the country offering such a service to help people get out and stay out of the collection cycle nightmare.
The impact of [re]start was widely recognized. Business First honored us with an outstanding innovation award in 2020, while Choice Recovery received national press, including the prestigious Torch Award for Ethics presented by the Better Business Bureau.
In 2022, marking my 25th anniversary in business, I made the decision to sell Choice Recovery, Inc. The following year, I sold the majority of [re]start, allowing me to focus on my next expression with Built to Lead and Authority Magazine.
Authority Magazine
Built to Lead
My journey in leadership development shifted when I joined Authority Magazine as a lead journalist for leadership and entrepreneurship. Approaching close to 1000 interviews with thought leaders and top executives, I've explored their stories, purposes, and impact. This experience led to a bigger role as the strategic partner for Authority Magazine's thought leader incubator for entrepreneurs and brands looking for a platform to expand their impact and brand. In 2024, I launched an online community for the Authority Magazine network so entrepreneurs and publicists seeking digital media resources, assets, and recognition have one place where they can go to do everything they need.
Simultaneously, I've been deeply involved with Built to Lead since 2010. As a client for 15 years, I've worked one-on-one with founder Chet Scott, bestselling author of "Becoming Built to Lead." Our time working together includes over 500 individual practices and facilitating more than 400 team practices.
This transformative experience recently shifted my focus from being a client to becoming a Built to Lead Builder, with the aim to help other entrepreneurs with the same gift I received to become Built to Lead.
In 2024, I launched an online community for Built to Lead. The app offers users access to Chet's book in both digital and audio formats. Users can upgrade to a guided version featuring "365 Daily Disciplines to Master the Art of Living," for which I've personally recorded commentary for on each day. My goal was to embody our tagline, "Together we transform," ensuring that no one has to navigate their leadership journey alone. The community also includes private spaces for members who want to delve deeper into the Built to Lead framework and resources. I've also developed an online leadership program for my clients, providing a continuous experience between our one-on-one practices.
I only work with a few high-performing individuals at a time on purpose and they have to demonstrate their potential by being distinctly different, a little crazy, and a genuine and authentic aim to become Built to Lead.
